Hear from our Network ChairsMohammed retired from the Royal Air Force in 2018 at the rank of Wing Commander and joined Sopra Steria as a Senior Management Consultant and Head of the Acquisition Support Partner team at MOD Corsham Information Systems and Services. For the past 15 years, he has established and led Equality and Diversity networks including managing trained Equality and Diversity Advisors who were positioned to support those who had suffered Bullying and/or Harassment. Such is his passion about people and making a positive difference that he did an RAF sponsored Master’s degree and his dissertation was on the Effects of Bullying and Harassment on the Employee and the Organisation. He also led the Armed Forces Muslim Association and reported directly to the Chief of Defence Staff on matters impacting Muslims who were in the Services and the effect of this on retention and recruitment from Muslim and BAME Communities. Against this backdrop, Mohammed was very honoured to have been asked to be the first Chairperson for our Race, Religion and Belief Network and now, the Multi-Faith Network. He believes a key success factor for the Network will be to take this seriously, learn from each other whilst supporting initiatives and making sure people have fun doing the work.
