What led you to this role?
I can’t say there's always been a plan to get here but definitely things have panned out well and I’m happy this is the current stop. I’m well-rounded and have done many jobs over my 12 years here, starting from data entry to managing medium sized teams of Data and Project Management professionals. I’m not afraid to get things done and when this current job landed in my lap for consideration I immediately said yes, mainly because it was going to be a challenge and who doesn’t like a good challenge? Data has always been in my life and I enjoy working with it. I can crunch numbers and prepare analysis with ease but ask me to write you an essay and you won’t see me again!
Has your experience of working here matched what you were expecting when you first joined?
The short answer is no, it hasn’t matched what I signed up for but actually exceeded it. I joined to do a specific job but got much more in return. I had the chance to evolve myself professionally and got to the point where I can share some of my experiences with others and help them evolve too. All of this has always been possible because of the people I worked with and managers than supported me over the years.
What do you think makes NHS SBS different from other companies in the industry?
I’ve always said it’s the people that make the workplace great and this is true here as well, but for some reason it seems we have more people that want to make a difference and propel us forward.
Would you recommend working here to others?
This isn’t a place for everyone but I would absolutely recommend NHS SBS to others. If you want to make a difference and are passionate about personal as well as professional development, you will feel at home. We are in an ever-changing environment where sometimes opportunities come faster than you'd expect, so you may find the job you never thought you needed.
