Two orange chairs and a spotlight
A conversation with Project Manager,
Peter Adeyemo
Peter works within Sopra Steria's Private Sector practice, where he supports a variety of clients. In this interview, he shares what it's like to be a Project Manager here.

So Peter, how did you start your career and how did that lead to where you are now?

My educational background is in Human Biology and Sports Science, where I hold a BSc and MSc degree. I worked in that industry for a few years before accepting my first role as a Project Assistant at NHS England. I got my first Project Manager position just a year later, thanks to hard effort, perseverance, and a desire to learn and improve.
I joined NHS Shared Business Services as a Project Manager at the end of 2019, then a couple of years later I moved into a role at Sopra Steria.

What does your Project Manager role at Sopra Steria look like?

As a Project Manager, I'm responsible for planning, delivering and closing my assigned projects. I make sure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the agreed quality standards. This involves coordinating and managing resources, including team members, budgets, timelines, and materials, to achieve the project’s goals.

In my two years at Sopra Steria, I've obtained my Scrum Master and Product Owner accreditation. I've been able to work with a variety of clients and gain exposure to different aspects of projects, which makes it dynamic and engaging.

What do you think makes Sopra Steria different from other companies in the industry?

Sopra Steria prides itself on looking after its people. Employees are listened to, encouraged to voice their opinion and rewarded well through the available benefits and schemes.

What is the best career advice you can give to others?

Do unto others as you’d like done unto you. Doesn’t matter what role or position you hold.
