Two orange chairs and a spotlight
A conversation with Project Manager, Nadine
I'm Nadine, a committee member for our Race and Culture inclusion network, and a Project Manager within our Private Sector business unit.

As a Project Manager, I plan, manage, and deliver client projects. I ensure delivery on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards on behalf of the client. My key responsibilities include coordinating resources, multifunctional teams, budgets, timelines, scope, and stakeholders to achieve the project’s objectives.

What led you to this role?

I joined NHS SBS in March 2020 before moving to Sopra Steria's Private Sector business unit in April 2022 for a new career direction.
I initially started out as a Project Support Officer, stepping into a fast-paced and supportive team that encouraged my development. I had plenty of room to grow my career in line with my ambitions, and with their guidance, I began pursuing project management certifications while taking on greater responsibilities. Building on that foundation, I continued progressing after moving to the Private Sector. In 2024, I became a Project Manager, leading multiple small and medium-scale projects for a strategic business account and high-profile client.

What do you think makes Sopra Steria different to other companies in the industry?

Sopra Steria fosters a genuinely people‑focused culture where employees are heard, encouraged to share their perspectives, and supported to grow. The organisation values contributions and recognises them through a wide variety of benefits, social value initiatives, and career development opportunities, creating an empowering and positive workplace.

Have you had training and development opportunities?

Yes, I’ve achieved my PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner, as well as my APM PFQ and PMQ qualifications. The organisation has supported and recognised my ambitions throughout, helping me progress at every stage of my career journey.

What is the best career advice you can give to others?

Don’t let perfect get in the way of good.
Action is better than no action.

Would you recommend working here?

Yes, I would recommend working here. The supportive culture, and strong opportunities for development make Sopra Steria a great place to grow. I’ve been encouraged, listened to, and supported throughout my journey, and the organisation consistently recognises effort and invests in its employees. I see myself working for Sopra Steria for a long time.
